  2. Thanks for trying POPOUT-PRO.  Because POPOUT is being 
  3. distributed via a number of channels, there may not be 
  4. an installation utility on this diskette or in this file.  
  5. If there is, it is called INSTALL.EXE.  From within the 
  6. Windows' Program Manager, click on 'File', then click on 
  7. 'Run'.  Type the command A:\INSTALL.
  8.  
  9. Note:
  10. If you've already run the install utility, and a POPOUT
  11. Program Group has been created with a number of items, there
  12. is a possibility that none of the POPOUT files has actually
  13. been copied to your diskette.  This is a problem in some
  14. systems with the way Windows caches files.  If this happens,
  15. either exit then restart Windows and try it again, or else
  16. copy all of the files on the POPOUT diskette to your POPOUT
  17. install directory.
  18.  
  19. This diskette contains the following files:
  20. README.TXT   - This file.
  21. FILE_ID.DIZ  - A description of POPOUT-PRO used by some BBS's.
  22. INSTALL.EXE  - The POPOUT Install utility.  
  23. INSTALL.INF  - The POPOUT Install Information file.
  24. POPOUT.EXE   - POPOUT-PRO Version 2.1 executable
  25. POPOUT.HLP   - POPOUT-PRO Help File
  26. POPOUT.PAL   - This is a Paintbrush palette file, used to redefine the
  27.                Paintbrush palette to use POPOUT colors.
  28. EXAMPI1.BMP  - Sample Source Image created using Paintbrush, and used
  29.                to create EXAMPO1.BMP and EXAMPO2.BMP
  30. EXAMPI2.BMP  - File created using POLYRAY and PLY2POP. This file has
  31.                been converted from Targa to BMP so that you can view it
  32.                using Paintbrush.  It must first be converted to Targa
  33.                to be a suitable POPOUT Source File.  In it's original
  34.                Targa format, it was used to create EXAMPO3.BMP and
  35.                EXAMPO4.BMP. (see PLY2POP.TXT)
  36. EXAMPO1.BMP  - Sample RDS Image in Black & White created by the shareware
  37.                version of POPOUT-PRO.  Note that there are two levels
  38.                of depth; the base level and one other level.  All non-
  39.                black colors are treated identically by the shareware
  40.                version of POPOUT-PRO.
  41. EXAMPO2.BMP  - Sample RDS Image in Random Colors, instructing POPOUT 
  42.                to generate lots of green by use of the Background color
  43.                in the Color Select window.  The Depth Factor was 
  44.                set to 35%.  This image was created using the 
  45.                non-shareware version of POPOUT-PRO to get the 16 levels.
  46. EXAMPO3.BMP  - Sample Custom Color RDS Image using EXAMPI2.TGA (not 
  47.                included) as the Source File, with the Pixel Density 
  48.                parameter set at 75%   This is a "cross eyed", or
  49.                Convergent stereogram. and may be difficult for some
  50.                users to see.  The Pattern Width was set to 100 pixels,
  51.                and the Depth Factor set to 80%.  This image also has
  52.                Guide Dots.  If you see a "hole", you're viewing it
  53.                wrong - remember, cross your eyes; don't relax them.
  54.                This file was converted from Targa so it could be viewed 
  55.                using Paintbrush.  This image was created using the
  56.                commercial version of the software.
  57. EXAMPO4.BMP  - Sample Dual-Image stereogram using EXAMPI2.TGA as the
  58.                Source File, and BIRD.BMP as the Background File.  The
  59.                Depth Factor was set to 30%.  This image was created 
  60.                with the non-shareware version of the software.
  61. BIRD.BMP     - This is the background image used to create EXAMPO4.BMP.
  62. COLORS.POC   - This is a sample color file used for creating EXAMPO3.BMP.
  63.                It was created by pressing the colors "LtBlue, LtCyan,
  64.                LtGreen, LtYellow, LtRed".  This is the color file
  65.                used to generate EXAMPO3.
  66. USFLAG.POC   - This is another example of a color file, created using
  67.                the colors "LtRed, White, LtBlue".
  68. PLY2POP.EXE  - This is a DOS command line utility for converting
  69.                a POLYRAY-generated image to something POPOUT can use
  70.                as a Source File.  See PLY2POP.TXT.
  71. PLY2POP.TXT  - Text file that describes PLY2POP.EXE
  72. BMP2TGA.EXE  - This is a simple DOS command utility for converting
  73.                BMP formatted files to Targa.
  74. BMP2TGA.TXT  - Text file describing BMP2TGA.EXE
  75. TGA2BMP.EXE  - This is a simple DOS command utility for converting
  76.                Targa formatted files to BMP.
  77. TGA2BMP.TXT  - Text file describing TGA2BMP.EXE
  78. POPOUT.INI   - Init file used to set POPOUT defaults.
